Is Greencrest Van Lines a moving carrier or a broker?

Greencrest Van Lines LLC is a licensed moving broker. We do not own trucks or operate as the transporting carrier. We plan your move and place it with a screened, licensed and insured motor carrier from our network, then coordinate the details with you from first estimate to final delivery.

How is my moving estimate calculated?

Estimates are based on your inventory, the distance between origin and destination, access at both addresses, the services you select (packing, storage, specialty items) and your preferred dates. A coordinator reviews the inventory with you so the number you receive reflects the move you actually have.

How far in advance should I book?

Accepted Answer

Two to four weeks is comfortable for most long distance moves. Summer months, month-end dates and holiday weekends fill up faster, so earlier is better. We also handle shorter-notice moves when carrier availability allows.

Are the carriers licensed and insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every carrier we place a move with must hold active USDOT and MC authority and carry the required cargo and liability coverage. We re-verify authority and insurance status before assigning your shipment.

What is a deposit and is it refundable?

A deposit reserves your dates and carrier capacity. Cancellation and refund terms are stated plainly in your written agreement before you pay anything. Your coordinator will walk you through those terms line by line.

Question 6

Can you store my belongings between move dates?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Short and long-term storage is available through our network, including climate-controlled options, when your delivery window does not line up with your closing or lease date.

Do you move specialty or high-value items?

Accepted Answer

Pianos, art, antiques, safes and other specialty pieces can be included. Tell your coordinator during the estimate so the right crew, equipment and valuation coverage are arranged in advance.
